A beautiful B&B in Ennis, in County Clare. The house is a fully modern and comfortable place that was built as a B&B so that all the rooms are large and well laid out. Mary, the hostess is the nicest person we met in County Clare. She does everything to make your stay warm and cozy. She offers a large living room on the ground floor for guest to meet and talk, and a large dinning room for breakfast looking out onto a beautiful incredibly large and well maintained garden/back yard. Breakfast if fantastic with a full cold and hot "full Irish". Wonderful coffee, tea and breads.
We were a small group 7 and had a fantastic 3 night stay in Ennis. The B&B is just outside of the center of Ennis, about a 900 meters to the center of the old town of Ennis. We did an easy walk to dinner that took less than 10 minutes. We enjoyed not being downtown as much of our last 2 weeks was in hotels on main roads in small towns with nightlife noise going on for hours and hours.
Mary offers a beautiful house, great beds and rooms, wonderful food and all at a great price.

We had a very pleasant stay at Glenomra House. The house is tastefully decorated, with a warm atmosphere. Mary made us feel very welcome and helped out with every possible query we had. The breakfast she served was a feast, the best we had in Ireland during our two weeks' stay! SSSSS

Out of our recent 2 week Ireland fling using all B&B's I have to say the Mary was our favorite hostess! Her husband is great as well. She is genuine, funny and so helpful. Mary, we all laughed at some of your sayings and they became our "inside joke" during our stay in Ireland She is a wonderful cook as well- the breakfast was delicious.
Her home is immaculate and tastefully decorated. The bathrooms are updated and clean with a shelf to put toiletries, if needed plus a hook on the inside bathroom door to hang my toiletry bag not all B&B's think of these!
Fresh flowers greeted us in the foyer.
Mary offered to drive us into Ennis since she was headed that way as well. It saved the men from driving and parking while us girls shopped :
We will definitely make sure we include her B&B next time we visit Ireland and will stay at least 3 nights this time coming the 20 minutes from Shannon airport. If we depart from Shannon,, we will return to her B&B at least for the last night.
Thanks Mary!! Eileen, Bob, Michael, Kelly and Conor.

Best home away from home with warm, friendly and helpful hostess. Mary made us feel very welcome and her local knowledge helped us easily traverse the local areas from a tourist perspective, with relative ease. We found the accommodation very warm and clean with breakfast a real delight and would recommend this establishment to anyone looking to relax or to those wanting a base to explore the area.SSSSS

Glenomra House is a lovely B&B located only a few minutes outside Ennis city centre. Our room was light and airy and very comfortable although the shower pressure was very weak. The owner was extremely polite and couldn't do enough to help us. Would definitely recommend staying. SSSSS

Glenomra House is a wonderful place to stay in Ennis. Close enough to walk to the center of town, yet just enough removed to maintain peace and quiet when you are ready for bed. The staff were amazing and made us feel right at home. Each room has updated en-suite bathrooms and is very clean and comfortable. When you combine all of that with the price, Glenomra House will be the only place I stay in the area from now on. SSSSS
Ennis is a truly outstanding town, undiscovered by many tourists from overseas - it is situated at the gateway to County Clare, making it an ideal base to make day trips to:
The Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Doolin, Beaches at Kilee and Lahinch (famous for surfing enthusiasts), Ailwee Caves, The Aran Islands, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Ireland's most complete and authentic Medieval Castle, and the folk park is a fascinating creation of 19th Century rural Ireland - also at Bunratty Woolen Mills you will find a one stop shop for all things woollen, linen, crochet, glass, souvenir and gifts - no excuse for not finding bringing back that bit of Irish with you!!
Only recently Ennis has become the first town centre in Ireland to be awarded a Purple Flag - an international award which recognises excellence in managing town centre with a focus on night-time economy.
Directions: If you are travelling from Shannon Airport, as you leave take the N19, then take the M18 north (Galway). approx 12 km later take Exit 12 - Ennis, stay on N85 for another 2.5km - you will approach the Clareabbey roundabout, take the 3rd exit, R 458 to Town Centre - follow this road for another km, passing 2 smaller roundabouts en route. After the last roundabout you will see a set of traffic lights ahead, and Glenomra is situated on the right hand side of the road before The Apple Green Petrol Station - always feel free to give me a call if you get loose your way, or roll down the window of your car and ask for directions to St Flannans College, a large grey stone building just directly across the road from Glenomra.
